Nokia 8 Sirocco has finally made its way to the Indian smartphone market. The device was launched at Rs 49,999, which makes it not only the most expensive Nokia device but also the costliest Android One device in India. The smartphone is available for pre-booking starting April 20. Part of Google’s Android One programme, so should get quick updates
The Nokia 8 Sirocco is among the many smartphones that are part of Google’s Android One initiative. This programme was first launched in the year 2014. The aim is to bring pure Android UI and timely updates, including security patches, to smartphones.
Zeiss optics-powered dual rear camera
One of the talking points of Nokia 8 Sirocco is its dual rear camera setup. The camera setup comprises of 12MP primary rear of f/1.75 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels and a secondary 13MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and an f/2.6 aperture and 1-micron pixels.
Curved edge-to-edge screen
The Nokia 8 Sirocco is made from a single piece of stainless steel with sharp edges and dual-curved glass display, making the side bezels extremely minimal. It also has a full 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 curves around all sides.
Wireless charging support
Like any other high-end smartphones — such as Samsung Galaxy S9, Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus — Nokia 8 Sirocco support Qi wireless charging with a claimed charging rate of 50% in 30 minutes.

Unfortunately for the Nokia 8 Sirocco, the price of device is a little steep for all the specifications it offers.
Runs on last year’s Qualcomm flagship processor, Snapdragon 835
The Nokia 8 Sirocco runs on Qualcomm’s last year’s flagship processors — Snapdragon 835. All the upcoming high-end smartphones of 2018 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 processor, where the Nokia 8 Sirocco may fail to live up to the competition.
5MP front camera
In world of selfie-crazed people, Nokia 8 Sirocco offers just a 5-megapixel front camera to its users. Competition smartphones such as OnePlus 5T, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 offer more powerful front cameras.
No 8GB RAM variant
The Nokia 8 Sirocco comes in only one RAM option of 6GB. Most other flagship smartphones, namely OnePlus 5T and Asus Zenfone AR, offer a more powerful 8GB RAM variant in the market as well.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco has a 128GB internal storage with no additional microSD card support. Although being a part of Android One, the users of this smartphone get free unlimited, high quality photos storage in Google Photos, but it creates a limited storage for other media such as videos, songs, apps, etc.
